What You’ll Make
You might create cups, bowls, plates, candle holders, planters, wall pieces, small sculptures or decorative objects. Pottery is limitless in experimenting with both functional and sculptural forms.
Studio & Format
This class is limited to 2 students, allowing for plenty of individual support in a relaxed studio environment. Each session lasts 3 1/2 hours, including clean-up.
Experience Level
This is a great course for those with zero experience, as well as anyone with prior experience wanting to get back into pottery. You’ll get plenty of support to finish the course with multiple finished pieces.
Attendance
This is a 7-week course where each session builds progressively on the previous week. If you are unable to attend a class, you may book one make-up session during the course. This is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed, as spaces are limited. We recommend attending all sessions where possible to get the most from the course and to ensure continuity in your learning and work.
Finished Work
Student work will be bisque fired throughout the course and glaze fired at the end. Your course includes up to 8 pounds of finished fired work. Additional firing is charged at $5 per pound.
What to Wear
Pottery will inevitably be messy, so wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting clay on. Clay washes out easily. You’re invited to bring an apron if you have one, or you can proudly wear some of your clay out into public after your session. Everyone might be impressed now that you’re officially an artist.
